Ali & Trevor | Engaged!

A Downtown Norfolk, and Virginia Beach Oceanfront Engagement Session

Ali loves dogs. It is known. Especially her dog, Remy. She comes out the gate with a spirit of brightness and warmth. Trevor is an undercover cat lover. He may seem reserved, but his humor is quick to punch through and meet yours. According to Ali, Trevor “just kinda appeared one day” in middle school. Back then, she still had her toe mole. She misses it now. Maybe one day she’ll get it tattooed back on.

Kat and I met these two at Brick Anchor Brewhouse in downtown Norfolk and got to chatting. It’s always fun to talk with people over a beer (and the occasional appetizer cause we’re secretly fat kids and can’t say no to spicy fried garlic wings…or nachos. I can say no sometimes, and Kat can say no sometimes, but our no’s have to line up or we’re both eating nachos. Back on track.). Another perk is it makes the photo session much more relaxed and comfortable. That makes for a
better experience.

Downtown Norfolk has a lot to offer for picture taking, but the real gem is not what you’d expect. Trevor and Ali slowly drifted together from middle school, into dating, all the way to the moment Trevor proposed to her after a night out at their favorite arcade. Kat and I definitely understand the unreal enjoyment of playing games together, and it was a blast to document these two being so adult and so childlike all at once, like old friends. They even gave us the leftover credits on the arcade card
(quarters are gone, my brothers) and let us play a few games afterward. I went from Guitar Hero to Guitar Squire this last decade. Oh well. Thanks Flipper McCoy’s, and thanks Ali and Trevor for a great time.
