Nestled in between Richmond and Williamsburg, on the banks of the Pamunkey River, sits Saude Creek Vineyards. If you’ve never been, make a day trip of it! If you’re hoping to have a wedding at Saude Creek Vineyards, read on. I was privileged to chat with Karen Leyda, the events manager there, and she provided me with the most up to date information on what your vineyards wedding could be like.
Any wedding hosted at Saude Creek will have very flexible venue options to make your wedding whatever you wish it to be. You would have exclusive use of Arris Hall and/or The Cottage on the property. The Cottage is a small house complete with your own stretch of vines for the day. This would make for perfect vineyard photos! There is also a patio and firepit area where you and your guests could enjoy cocktail hour. This space could also be used to Rehearsal Dinner or even as an intimate space for an elopement, as well. You cannot stay overnight there, but the kitchen would be available for the caterer of your choice to warm and prep your wedding plates.
Arris Hall is a gorgeous event space with a lovely ceremony area under a white pergola. It is a newer addition to the vineyard. You can host your wedding of up to 150 guests in the hall with a lovely view of vineyards and rolling hills. There are no restrictions on outdoor decor, so have your florist decorate the pergola and hall with lovely flower installments.
For your exit, you can have sparklers or anything biodegradable. We always suggest sparklers, as they are easy cleanup and make for lovely images.
As always, if you are looking to host your wedding at Saude Creek Vineyards, I suggest you visit their website and reach out to them. If you are looking for a photographer, we would love to help! Get in touch, and let’s see how we can make that happen.
