Rolling Vineyards | Potomac Point Winery Wedding

Virginia has a fair amount of stunning vineyards, but none quite like Potomac Point Winery. Stepping on to the European inspired estate makes you feel as though you’ve been transported a world away from the hustle and bustle of DC and Northern Virginia. It’s quite a breath of fresh air, and a wonderful weekend getaway. They have incredible wines, an amazing bistro, and are a beautiful wedding venue. I was able to speak with Chelsea Sparaco, on staff there, and ask her a few questions about the venue. She was gracious to answer, and I’ll be sharing her insights on a Potomac Point Winery wedding throughout the article below!

I always ask venues what they would tell prospective couples if they could only tell them one thing. For Potomac Point Winery, it is that its a Tuscan styled, all-season, full-service venue designed specifically for weddings. What a luxury! To have a winery as a wedding venue is one thing, but one that is designed with Tuscany and weddings in mind is wonderful.

For any couple looking to book their wedding at Potomac Point, these are my key takeaways from getting to know the venue and speaking with Chelsea:

  • Couples that wish to have exclusive use of the venue need to book the Vines to Vows package.
  • The winery books all kinds of events- so feel free to host your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, day after brunch, engagement picnic… I could go on… all at the winery!
  • You get bistro service in the bridal suite! How cool is that. While you’re getting ready you will get snacks and drinks delivered to you just as a perk for choosing the vineyard for your wedding.
  • Couples and guests cannot stay overnight on the property. However, there is a Courtyard Marriott close by with shuttle service to and from the winery, so you don’t need to worry for anyone’s safety after your reception. This is a wonderful thing!
  • You do have to use Potomac Point Winery’s in house catering, but don’t fear. It’s delectable. And as a plus, if your wedding has 75 or more guests, the couples tasting is complimentary.
  • Speaking of guests counts, Chelsea specified that Potomac Point specializes in weddings with 75-180 guests.
  • When getting married at a vineyard, it would make sense to host your ceremony outside. However, if rain becomes an issue, their indoor space with a 20ft stone fireplace can make for a gorgeous ceremony site as well.
  • You would not have to worry about hiring staff or asking friends and family to set-up and breakdown everything for you- PPW has staff for that!
  • As with most venues, they permit sparkler exits. We never suggest anything else anyway- everything else is typically bad for the environment and hard to clean.

That just about touches on all the points most couples are curious about. Chelsea did mention that they do have a very unique wedding tradition that couples can opt to do- Grape Stomping! Go ahead and click that link to see if that’s something you’d like to do. It looks fun to me.

If you have any more questions about what a Potomac Point Winery wedding might be like, I encourage you to visit their website and reach out! They are wonderfully accommodating, and I’m sure would be happy to answer any further questions you have. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, Mark and I would love to work with you! Get in touch, tell us all about your wedding, and let’s make it happen.
